OCI Global (OCI) announced in a social media post that it had agreed the first deliveries of renewable ammonia with BASF. BASF will supply the green commodity made on the Ludwingshafen site in Germany to OCI’s Geleen facility in the Netherlands for the manufacture of low-carbon fertilizers. According to the same post, this partnership will enable OCI to expand its low-carbon Pure product line, delivering the same fertilizer quality with a substantially reduced carbon footprint without compromising on performance. BASF, in its turn, produces the renewable ammonia using a mass balance approach with renewable-powered hydrogen.
